30th Reunion for the Class of ’80

At the Touch of ‘Iolani were Kinglsey Wong ’80, Joni Wong, John Lample, (sitting) Pam Funai, Randal Ikeda ’80 and Jon Genka ’80.
They are old enough to know who Checkers & Pogo were. Yet they are young enough to have iPhones, Facebook pages and text messages. The mightly Class of ’80 celebrated its 30th year reunion with several fun and unforgettable events.

They enjoyed a golf outing at Waikele golf course. It was the first time class valedictorian Lawrence Tanimoto had ever stepped on a golf course. Still being the smartest guy in the class, he read Golf for Dummies and took a lesson prior to the reunion. He also won the most spirited award.

Classmates also had a great reunion at A Touch of ‘Iolani on August 2. They even started a fantasy football league as a way to keep in touch.

Plans are being made for another get-together in Las Vegas when the Class of ’80 begins to turn 50-years-old. The class is also coordinating the Alumni Association 2011 golf tournament.
